The third and final day of the final Moto2 and Moto3 winter tests was cut short due to further inclement weather on Sunday in Qatar, including a sandstorm and thunder and lightning.
High winds prevailed throughout the day at the Losail International Circuit and conditions deteriorated as the evening drew in, resulting in a red flag in the third Moto3 session. The premature halt came after day one on Friday was rained off.
Juanfran Guevara (RBA Racing) was fastest on Sunday by 0.176s from series rookie Ayumu Sasaki (SIC Racing) after lapping in 2m 07.649s.
However, few riders were able to improve from Saturday, leaving Romano Fenati (Marinelli Rivacold Snipers) as the fastest rider overall following a lap in 2m 06.690s, with Gresini's Jorge Martin only 0.039s in arrears.
Martin suffered a crash at T15 on Saturday but escaped with a small contusion to his hand. Estrella Galicia 0,0's Aron Canet remained in third on the time sheets, only a further 0.020s behind, while RBA's Gabriel Rodrigo was fourth overall with a time of 2m 06.957s.
The top six in the lightweight class was rounded out by Belgian rider Livio Loi (Leopard Racing) and Nicolo Bulega (Sky Racing Team VR46), while Japan's Sasaki completed an impressive pre-season programme in seventh overall at Losail.
Niccolo Antonelli (Red Bull KTM Ajo), Sunday pacesetter Guevara (RBA Racing) and Philipp Oettl (Südmetall Schedl GP Racing) completed the top ten.
Britain's John McPhee finished 12th for the British Talent Team, setting his best lap in 2m 07.327s as he finished six tenths down on Fenati.
