Italjet proved that they have not suffered from missing the pre-season IRTA tests as both Gianluigi Scalvini and Stefano Perugini qualified in the top ten of the 125cc class.
Eighth placed Scalvini was particularly pleased with his effort: “I'm very satisfied; the came just appeared! If we are competitive it is because of the work of the whole team.
“The motor goes well but like Aprilia I had some problems with the tyres, which we are working on. I want to carry Italjet into the front row – which I think will happen very soon.”
MotoGP returnee Perugini (tenth fastest) added: “The time has proved we have worked hard over the winter and I'm fairly confident that we can improve tomorrow.”
