d'Ant?n Yamaha rider Shinya Nakano recovered from a disappointing one-hour 'Qualifying' session at Catalunya yesterday to finish as second fastest Yamaha behind Alex Barros.

Nakano was happy with the end result, but the normally placid Nakano admitted to being 'angry' with his result in the 'time attack' qualifying hour, when his set-up inspired little confidence.

"I'm happy with how things have gone in these tests, but also angry for not doing better this morning," said the Japanese who lives in Barcelona. "In the afternoon we changed some things and the bike has improved a lot, and also my time laps. The main thing is that I'm ready for the first GP, that it's also my home race, so I want to do it well."

Team director, Luis d'Ant?n was satisfied after the two days of testing and he believes that his squad is ready for the first round of the 2003 season.

"Our target here was to see where we were up to Suzuka, and I think that we have done things well," said the former 250cc Spanish champ. "Shinya has been confirmed as one of the fastest guys in MotoGP- and on a Yamaha. We hope to be regularly in the top five in every GP."

Yesterday, the team announced they'd signed sponsorship deals with Arlen Ness (leathers and gloves) and Oxstar boots.
