Weather delivers Simoncelli first 125 pole
Marco Simoncelli will start from pole position for the first time in his career after the final 125cc qualifying session for the Spanish Grand Prix was hit by bad weather.

Series leader Andrea Dovizioso made the most of drying conditions at the end of the session to set the fastest lap in a time of 1min 49.408secs, but was well over a second off the pace of his fellow Italian teenager's best effort from yesterday.

Roberto Locatelli and Casey Stoner, who contested victory with Dovizioso in the first round of season at Welkom, were both on the young Italian's trail again today, setting the second and fourth fastest time respectively with Stoner, who also lapped quickly in the wet, set to start tomorrow's race from third place on the grid behind Simoncelli and Alvaro Bautista.

Pablo Nieto completes the front row whilst Dovizioso starts from the second row in fifth, ahead of Roberto Locatelli, Youichi Ui and Mika Kallio.
