800cc Yamaha still to be named

A Factory Yamaha Team spokesperson has told Crash.net that the new 800cc Yamaha, to be raced from the 2007 MotoGP season onwards, is still to be given a confirmed name.

The identity of the 990cc YZR-M1's replacement will be announced when the bike is officially launched in the new year.

The most obvious choice, given the names of Yamaha's production based machines, would be the 'YZR-M8', but why not list your own idea(s) in the Crash.net forum by clicking on the link below...

Former five-times MotoGP world champion Valentino Rossi and Texan team-mate Colin Edwards have both been re-signed to race the new 800cc Yamaha next season, but 2006 title sponsor Camel is yet to be confirmed.
