Lorenzo silent on MotoGP move

Out of respect for current employer Aprilia, and to minimise distraction during his quest for a second 250cc world title, Jorge Lorenzo and his management are refusing to comment on the Spaniard's almost-certain MotoGP move until after the summer break.

Lorenzo, beaten only once in the five races held so far this season - and employing ever more adventurous victory celebrations - is widely believed to be on his way to MotoGP with Yamaha in 2008.

It is rumoured that some form of deal may already have been done, although an official announcement regarding the 20-year-old's future is not expected until August at the earliest.

The supremely confident Lorenzo, a former rival of MotoGP stars Dani Pedrosa and Casey Stoner, has been an Aprilia rider for the past two seasons after graduating to the quarter-litre class with Honda in 2004. Lorenzo rode for Derbi in the 125cc World Championship from 2002-2004.
