Rizla Suzuki's MotoGP stars will take the centre stage at this upcoming Rizla Racing Day to be held at the Assen TT circuit.
Similar to that of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the annual event attracts thousands of people every year, with many bike and car demonstrations, as well as a round of the German Formula 3 Championship.
Leading the action will be Rizla Suzuki's MotoGP riders Loris Capirossi and Chris Vermeulen, who come from their successful jaunt in the United States Grand Prix to demonstrate in front of the crowds.
The first time Capirossi has attended, he is looking forward to ride around the legendary Dutch circuit without the requirement to compete this time.
“I am really looking forward to this event as I have heard many good things about it. It will be great to see all the cars and bikes that are there and be able to witness them out on track.
“I have had a couple of weeks off the bike now and my arm is a lot better so this will give me a chance to see how well it is recovering – I know it is only a demonstration but I will give the bike a good run to show all the fans what it can do!”
The second time Vermeulen has visited the event, the pair will do five laps of the circuit each to give the fans the chance to experience the sights and sounds of motorcycling's premier sport.
“This is the second year that I have attended the Rizla Race Day and I am really looking forward to going back – I am even flying back from Australia so I can participate in the day!
“We got a great reception there last year, especially from people who had never seen or heard a MotoGP bike and I'd like to think we converted them into not only MotoGP fans, but Rizla Suzuki fans as well.
"I'll certainly be putting on a show for all the people there and make sure they leave with a positive experience of what a MotoGP bike is all about.”
