James Toseland has placed the blame for his disappointing recent run of form entirely on the performance of his tyres as he heads to the latest
MotoGP round at Misano outside the top ten for the first time this season.
Toseland started his rookie offensive in
MotoGP with a bang earlier this year when he was challenging for podiums alongside his Tech 3 Yamaha team-mate
Colin Edwards.
However, the Brit's results have tailed off markedly in the last few rounds as he struggles with the condition of his Michelin tyres, a matter that came to a head last time out at Brno when he crossed the line in 13th place.
Now, ahead of the latest round of the championship in San Marino, Toseland claims he shouldn't be finishing so lowly. Despite his woes though, the sole Brit in
MotoGP has vowed not to let it get him down.
“We have six rounds left and there is still a lot can happen. We can't be finishing at the back because at the start of the season my team-mate
Colin Edwards was finishing on the podium.
“This is nothing other than a tyre problem. I'm good at keeping my head high and not letting things get me down. Unfortunately it's out of my hands and to say it's frustrating is an understatement.”
