Let's face it, the diehard anti-Stoner brigade wouldn't care if the Pope said the bike is hard to ride really fast, they rely on their daily dose of anti-Stoner bile for their existence. However, for genuine fans of the sport, this is telling: Rossi knows Stoner is a damn good rider and that's why he has been so focussed this year - genuine competition. That Rossi beat Stoner says heaps about who is simply the best racer - it's Rossi, QED - but he says, and he believes, that Stoner is breathing down his neck. 2009 may be a vintage year for GP racing, and it's about time... The Duc, Yam and HRC teams look the strongest pairings in a number of years, can't wait for 2009 to start.

@ Poppy Clark "The Ducati is still the fastest bike and will dominate in 2009. Valentino will have to try even harder next year (if that's humanly possible). I see Casey having an engineering advantage - that the more open and honest Nicky Hayden (soon), will publically admit to." Whatever 'engineering advanatge' Casey had, Marco had it too and was last more often than not, when most expected him to be a podium regular. Will be interesting to hear what the open and honest Nicky has to say, I think it'll be more along the lines of "FARK Stoner is fast!!"
