The new MotoGP bike-swap system has been given the green light for Sunday's British Grand Prix.

Following a pit-lane tangle between Andrea Iannone and Aleix Espargaro in Brno, the revised procedure was tested at the end of Friday practice at Silverstone.

This involved the introduction of markers to signal where each rider should turn into their pit, new bike position (also bringing an end to jumping directly from one machine to another), plus a mechanic with a 'lollipop' sign to help ensure a safe release.

Riders were then invited to give their opinion of the changes, behind closed doors in the Safety Commision.

On Saturday evening, Race Director Mike Webb confirmed to Crash.net that the new system will be used, adding that teams have been updated on the correct procedures after some errors during Friday's test run.

Further minor improvements may also be implemented once the teams have more experience of the system.
