Its clear they let the old man lead the race to honor his 300 grand prix..... kudos for that... at least the old man had happy time while being let to lead...

I think we might be seeing his age take affect . He just can't seem to hold the pace till the end. He's been faster than Maverick a lot lately, outqualifying him numerous times, just can't seem to hold the pace. I'm sure grip has a lot to do with it as well. I'm just sad to come to terms with the fact that he is showing his age. I guess it's understandable. I highly doubt we will see Mav and Marc still fighting for wins in 15 yrs. it's not common . MotoGP now is a young mans game.

Yes its the truth.... no matter how we still want him to win.... but you cant outrun age.... we have to accept it like even rossi himself already accepted it....

It has a lot more to do with his weight and height than his age! He his 11 cm taller than Vinales and about 1 kg heavier (he was around 70 kg, now reportedly 65). Considering that in MotoGP, the minimum weight of the bike is measured without a rider that means that Rossi's bike has to cope with more weight during the 20-30 laps of the race. It stresses the tires more and the engine burns more fuel. Also, his height is not "aerodynamics friendly" either so he also suffers at top speed.
In the wet, his weight has some pros because he can heat the tires faster and in a better way, just like Cal, Petrucci, Iannone, Redding...
Today at the end of the race, 3-4 laps to go, you could clearly see how Rossi's M1 struggled on acceleration at the Hangar Straight where Dovi passed him or at the Wellington Straight where Maverick overtook him. That hard rear was just spinning...

Totally agree , I definitely saw that he was really hurting coming off the corners. It just feels like lately he's too happy with a podium. Back in the day he was devastated with anything less than a win. He hasn't been fighting back . Then again it could just be that the loss of grip is too much to overcome. Since mid point last year Rossi just can't close a race. He use to be the best at the end of races. Now he struggles not to lose places in the last few laps. It's frustrating because there have been so many times in the last 2 years than he could have won a race had he not lost the speed at the end.

Really Really want to see Dovi win this championship...beating Marc head to head battle in last race and today beating Marc and both the Yamaha's... wow

Some of these comments are very stupid, well 1 of them for sure....
