MotoGP Rider of the Day: Qatar

The opening round of the 2012 MotoGP season saw Jorge Lorenzo clinch victory ahead of the Hondas of Dani Pedrosa and Casey Stoner in the first race for the new breed of 1000cc machines.

Tech 3 Yamaha rider Cal Crutchlow matched his best MotoGP result in fourth, after a race long battle with new team-mate Andrea Dovizioso.

Nicky Hayden was the top Ducati in sixth, followed by new Gresini signing Alvaro Bautista and LCR Honda rookie Stefan Bradl - who held sixth for much of the race.

The new 'Claiming Rule Team' class was headed by Colin Edwards. The Suter-BMW rider finished 12 seconds clear of his nearest privateer rival, Aspar Aprilia's Randy de Puniet, who fought his way forwards from 17th on lap one.

All things considered, we want to know your star at Losail.
