Nico Terol has extended his 125cc World Championship lead to 36 points after another runaway win in Sunday's Aragon Grand Prix.

Terol snatched the lead from Aspar Aprilia team-mate and pole sitter Hector Faubel into turn one, then rode steadily into the distance.

Title rival Johann Zarco spent the first part of the race struggling to pass Faubel, then continued to lose ground to Terol when he finally got into second place.

Faubel used the strong top speed from the Aspar bikes to stick with Zarco's Ajo Derbi through the middle stages of the 20 laps, and the pair battled over the runner-up spot right to the final corner.

Terol went on to win his eighth race of the season - in front of his home fans - by 6.771sec from Zarco, while Faubel crashed out as he attempted to overtake the Frenchman into the last turn.

That late exit promoted race-winning rookie Maverick Vinales from a lonely fourth to third for Paris Hilton Aprilia, while Luis Salom (RW Aprilia) won a thrilling five-rider fight for fourth place.

Four rounds and 100 points remain before the end of the 2011 season.

UPDATE: Salom and Cortese were later docked one place for overtaking under yellow flags. Revised results below.
