Thomas Luthi has bounced back from his spectacular Motegi accident in perfect fashion – by beating title rival Mika Kallio by just 0.002secs at today's 125cc Malaysian Grand Prix.
Honda rider Luthi, who suffered a dislocated shoulder in his Japanese fall, and KTM mounted Kallio looked like he might be able to pull away for a clear victory, but Kallio fought back and was looked to the Swiss rider's rear wheel during the closing stages – before the race was settled by a thrilling dash for the line.
Meanwhile, Mattia Pasini crossed the line almost 10-seconds further back for third, having held off Hector Faubel and Gabor Talmacsi, while the third KTM of Julian Simon claimed a safe sixth.
