2001 Moved to WSBK with Honda but retired at the end of the year.

2000 Finished 11th in the 500cc World Championship with 107 points.

1999 Third in the 500cc World Championship with three wins.

1998 Eighth in the 500cc World Championship after suffering a wrist injury.

1997 Second in the 500cc World Championship. Also scored first victory (INA)

1996 Made 500cc World Championship debut (MAL) - seventh in the overall points standings.
Development rider for V-twin project.

1995 Fourth in the 250cc World Championship.

1994 Second in the 250cc World Championship.

1993 Eighth in the 250cc World Championship.

1992 Second in the International All Japan 250cc Championship.

1989-91 Won the International All Japan 250cc Championship three consecutive times as a Honda rider.

1988 Fifth in the International All Japan TT-F3 Championship.
14th in the International All Japan 250cc championship.

1986 Won first national Championship in Japan.
