could not agree more, except would like to eliminate pneumatic valves. this would drive the cost down and attract more manufacturer to come in. the technology is so expensive to be developed and not all manufacturer has the expertise.
to further cut costs, don't focus on standardised equipment but instead set certain parameters on each equipment and introduce competition to its supply (take wtcc with its gearbox supply as the best example).
just back to basics - pure and simple...
