Rossi left Honda because they would not pay him what he thought he was worth, this is after winning the last 500 crown and the first 2 4stroke crowns. At this stage Honda were of the opinion that it was the bike, not the rider that had triumphed. Rossi then humbled Honda by being the first rider to win back to back GPs on 2 different brands (as highlighted by previous posters). From here Vale has rewritten motorcycle Grand Prix history and love him or hate him he has proven by results - the ultimate B.S. detector - that He IS THE MAN and you can't argue with facts! Ago didn't face such quality opposition, if he had he would have won maybe half of the GPs he did.
