@ Rawdawg, Thanks for the info...I thought that the engines were submitted and sealed at the beginning of the season and then if a new engine was developed in the season they(the manufacturer) would then request a swap of an unused sealed engine (to be used at later date) at which point they would have to announce a updated engine i.e. for Ben Spies etc. Again humbly, I say thanks for the info. I saw the FIM rulebook where it stated "The engines available for the exclusive use of each rider must be marked and sealed by the Technical Director prior to first use." I stand corrected but I am sure I read that article that stated factory kits given to sat riders must be announced, will recheck.
