Melandri has always been a late late braker, he has to have COMPLETE confidence in the front end..his dillydallying from showa to ohlins and wanting back to showa again only confirms his non confidence in this regard. With a sorted front end he's one of the best..HRC built the bike around Pedrosa and guess what..he hasn't the power, nor inclination, to brake so late as 'I need to be right at the front and just gas it, late braking's not how I ride a bike'...enough said I think but De Puniet has managed to live with that issue. It must be noted that Hopper, upon inheriting his kwakker, said of Randy, 'he doesn't know how to set up a bike, he just lets out a few pounds of tyre pressure.'
