When do top level riders, or any racer for that matter, NOT want what the other faster riders have if they haven't got it?
Part of being successful in any sport is having the mindset, perhaps blindly at times, that you're better than the rest..or at least no worse given a level playing field.
Michelins contract wasn't with Rossi and Pedrosa..it was with the Honda and Yamaha factory teams. Sure the riders weren't happy at the way Ducati with Stoner dominated in 07 and were perhaps, quite naturally, looking for reasons why they got blitzed..for vanitys sake if you like, but they were still getting paid millions to lose.
Yamaha and Honda most definately were not happy after spending fortunes, and paying losing riders' big bucks, to develop their 800s and then get battered. Michelin were the fall guys when in reality there were other engineering deficiencies as well, but come on..do you think they would honestly hold a hand up and say "WE got it wrong"..not very Japanese is it?
