It was actually Yamaha's head honcho, Mr. Masuo Furusawa credited Rossi many times by quoting he was mainly responsible for the Yamaha-M1 development project (post 2003), NOT the Crash! So, he knows exactly what he was talking about. I read here many times some people talking with half-baked grasp, obviously they don't have any clear cut understanding about the roles and responsibilities of an Engineering Head and a their principal Rider. In the recent times, history proves that hardly anyone could come close to Rossi's gifted abilities in terms developing a bike. Having said that, Engineering Head has the sole responsibilities to Design various components, could be anything from a nut to an Engine! But why do the Riders and Engineers keep on running in the loop, which has a Design-Develop-Design-Develop cycle?
