I think cal has a chance to do ok, he has a lot to learn and it will be the team and race engineer whom need to keep things smooth and positive. One thing that Cal bought up which maybe could have been looked at quicker if he'd talked about it to the race engineer, but would have been easy to see on the data is if the front was riding high. You dont have to go too crazy as Cal had to get up to speed but it might have been better to change the balance sooner for him and not wait 2 days on a std Yamaha setting (what ever that means) and him try harder and loose the front end. Come on Tech 3 work a bit quicker please. Cal needs to stay focused this year, if he's not happy about the setting talk with the race engineer, look at the data, its all there to be found. At the same time its down to Cal learning the tracks and his trade.
