Lap times are highly dependent to circuit/track condition, temperature, humidity and many things. So it's a good idea to compare riders at the same test session. And that would mean that Rossi is getting closer to the test leader (Sepang 1st test 1.085, and now 0.705).
I'm not sure about why those riders are doing slower lap times than the 1st Sepang test, but, whatever it is, it should apply to Rossi too.
Why don't you question the drops of anybody else's lap times?
