@Slammy Most Toyota, Mazda, Nissan and Honda plants are already down. Even on non-economic sites like GPOne it is now reported that Honda and Yamaha are shutting down factories until the 20th at least. Reason: lack of elektricity. With 20% of the elektricity supply permanently down, the broken infrastructure, lack of food, water, shortage of fuel, the life in the production areas is slowly grinding to a halt. Also some factories lost considerable amount of stock and it shipping facilities when the Sendai port was flooded.
It can also become a problem to finance things if the government goes bankrupt and the yen will be useless outside Japan.
Even the factories overseas are dependent on parts from Japan.
