Hi, i think I am qualified to answer the questions regarding the most popular riders in Spain, as I follow both the Spanish TV and press whenever possible as well as the english speaking media. Basically Dani has always been more popular in spain than Lorenzo and still is. Lorenzo is slowly getting more popular and this I think has a lot to do with him mellowing out in recent years. Bautista is also very popular, nothing to do with his recent accident but because of his constant smile and the full commitment he gives when on the bike. Dani is very misunderstood by the english speaking media and fans. He comes accross as non-smiling and sour. In reality he is a cool guy, and away from the track is way more relaxed.
