Things are not as simple as Rossi lobbying something... Pedrosa weights 20 kilos less than Sic, 19 less than Spies, 16 less than Rossi. As fine tuned as this bikes are, it is difficult not seeing huge advantages in fuel consumption -which allows lighter riders to get more power out of their engines-, acceleration, and also aerodynamics. He has less weight to use to change the direction of the bike. He claims to have less weight to control de bike when braking, but he also has less weight to control when braking. To me, the main issue here is fuel consumption and I think that as long as it is so tight as it currently is, there should be a minimum weight for bike-rider.
