Coming from a rider who does most of the overtakings in the races, I'll say it's valid enough to keep other riders who do less overtakings to say otherwise. Technological improvement is inevitable. But sure there're ways to make the sport more enjoyable by, for example, widden the track. So riders can have more racing lines to do the overtakings. It will also give more room for riders to avoid collision with other rider.
