I am sure Rossi left Yam because he felt he could no longer beat a younger, faster guy on the same bike... and because he felt that younger faster guy lacked the development experience and ability that Rossi brought to the team.
Ducati have been looking to 2012 from the moment Rossi came onboard, with the new rules etc, the question is whether Rossi is still fast enough (legend as his is, time waits for no one).
IMHO Lorenzo is clearly quick enough - but major questions still hang over his ability to develop a bike.
And worryingly for everyone, Honda have a very fast bike and a very fast (albeit highly annoying Aussie). Stoner is going to be very very hard to stop on a Honda.
At least it means we see more of his wife on the telly though. Ooooooh yeah.
