Pity that Smith overcooked the first turn, (easily done at turn 1, particularly at the start), as he had good race pace until he fell off trying too hard to make up lost ground. Better luck next time. Glad to see Redding picked up the baton for the UK and got a better result than of late. Pleased to hear he's taking his heat acclimatisation training seriously too. I hope he can turn things around with a few better results leading to more confidence and vice versa. 3000 euros is a very harsh penalty for a low paid Moto2 rider, particularly as Marquez's behaviour on track was downright dangerous. Marquez is a great talent, but he's made some bad moves this year too, particularly taking out Redding at Estoril when he was running in 7th with the chance of a podium, in what was a very avoidable accident. I suppose you still have to make some allowance for youthful exuberance and inexperience though.
