Smart move, actually. Would have been wise of him to have sat this round out completely and come back after three weeks R&R for Valencia. The first off he had in FP he was on his hands and knees for a few seconds before he could get up. The QP crash he was almost staggering after he got up and had to lean against the service vehicle that came. Now he has less than two weeks to get healthy for Valencia. He has a 17 point lead over Rossi and Simo, so it would take either of these riders to place 2nd or better to displace him from 5th. I think the best Simo can do this weekend is 3rd unless there are some crashes at the front, and Rossi, well, not on the podium unless it rains. So odds are Ben should be holding on to 5th going into the final round.
