Good thread, this. Although it's a shame everything we say is just theory and opinion- not like our thoughts make any difference to anyone!
As someone quite rightly said, the engines are generally pretty similar in output- it's the electronics that make a big difference. You can't use 220bhp below 100mph when the combined weight of bike, rider & fuel is just 220kg itself!
If it's not the TC cutting in, it's the anti wheelie.
It's not fair to have a mandatory electronics package in GP racing, but they do need some restrictions.
In my opinion they need to ban anything that either uses GPS or recognises the corner.
Simple system based on a pre-programmed map, wheel speed sensors, throttle position and gyros.
It'd be the same as what manufacturers fit to their road bikes, be a lot cheaper and remove the need for a whole fleet of electronics engineers.
