I think Kiefer's sponsors were dependent on a German rider. That's the way of the world I'm afraid.
Kiefer had, we know, tried to move up to Moto GP in 2012 but couldn't find the money from Viessmann. Once they couldn't move up, they lost Bradl. And in order to retain the backing which has made them a major player in Moto2, they had to have a German. So Neukirchner gets a good ride next season. Big challenge for him to step up to the front though.
