There was a rule modification for 2012. The 107% now applies to the morning warm up, not Pole position. The theory, I suppose, is to allow CRTs to make the grid, as morning warm up times are generally slower than Q times because most riders are more focused on race pace as opposed to outright single fast laps. It would be a shame to have 21 bikes registered for a race with 9 (CRTs) not being able to make the race start based on the 107% of pole position rule.
