In MCN this week there is a double-page spread that goes into detail about the new Panigale. BSB is the only place you'll be able to see the bike race in Superbike. Ducati Corse are supplying factory test rider Polita with a works built machine that looks absolutely stunning.
New rules in BSB this year means the bike will run very close to stock, suspension, brakes and exhaust aside. The Panigale was built with racing in mind and weighs just 164kg as it rolls off the production line completely road legal, with lights and a catalytic exhaust. In BSB they are adding ballast to the bike it is so light. The article says this is an advantage as you can locate it where it's best for balance. Corse have found after miles of testing it's best located under the seat.
Anybody who thinks the GP12 couldn't have made 153kg, is kidding themself..
