"Ducati's dreadful design won a whole bunch of races, poles, fastest laps and podiums so I don't know if dreadful applies."..
Casey Stoner won on that bike..nobody else. Take away his efforts and what's left?
Ducati were spoilt by his talent. He masked what a crock it really was but, Casey won just 3 races on it in his last of 4 seasons with them..his lowest total during that time. He also crashed a lot more trying to make up for it's deficiencies. 4th two years on the trot.
10 wins and a WC on an RCV last year shows just how far the bike was away from the opposition.
The new bike would not have happened if any other rider, including Stoner, had been on the bike last year.
It's a brave new world for Ducati and Rossi. There really is no option for either to back out now without looking silly..it's a project that has to be seen right the way through, narrow angle V-engine and all if necessary.
This is just the start.
