The figures sound low to me. I agree with Mick that costs would need to come down in WSBK and MotoGP - and also in national series. From what I have read it costs about 5 million Euros to run a couple of riders in WSBK and about half that in BSB (competitively). Re the comment on Rossi - the article states costs excluding rider salaries. Ducati have a sponsor with big pockets and my understanding is that the sponsor foots the bill for the Ducati race operation, but the Japanese factories have traditionally funded most of their race costs with title sponsors just topping up the kitty.
