It is very clear that last season the Honda and Yamaha were about equal machines. However, this year Yamaha have surpassed Honda. Their bikes are so stable and they don't suffer the massive issue of chattering.
Stoner's time FP3 is incredible in that it was on used hard tyres and he once again, he had to ride the $hit out of the bike despite it's flaws - he is probably used to it given he had to live with the Ducati for four years.
The way he appears to have managed the chatter issue somewhat is to dial down the electronics - let man and machine talk in harmony like they used to do in the good old days.
They talk about limiting traction control, if they got rid of it altogether, Stoner would walk away with the championship.
