Amazing effort by Stoner to grab 2nd & pushed the M1 to its limits despite the dreaded chatter. When the bikes were evenly matched in 2011, Casey was over 0.8sec faster than Jorge at this track. Can't help but think if he'd been on the M1, he would have been in the 1.53's
Stoner is the only one with an Alien teammate, yet he's over 1sec quicker than Pedrosa. The fact that Crutchlow is nearly 0.8 up on Pedrosa shows how dominant the M1 is. It doesn't bode well for Honda.
Nevertheless, Casey Stoner just gotta ride the living hell out of what he's been given, you can't ask for more than that. If it weren't for his skills, we'd witness an all Yam lockout. You could argue that the Duke might be a better package than the Honda this year, they have the advantage in top speed & the bike turns better than the Honda. Would love to see what time Casey could have hammered down on Rossi's bike.
No matter what happens tomorrow, you know that Stoner will make a real fight of it.
