Sales will not drop because of Rossi. Sales did not increase because of Rossi. Ducati sales have been going up long before Rossi even got there. Ducati attributes their increase in sales to their increas in product offering such as the Multistrada, Supermotard (?), Daivel ,etc etc. If Rossi was so good at selling bikes than Yamaha won't have had the biggest decrease in bikes sales among the Japs in 2009-2010.
Racing has very little to do with bike sales. I would say the bike magazines with their "Wow! "X" is the greastest sportbike every made and the bike you bought last year is a piece of junk" hyerbole review articles sales more bikes. Just ask BMW - they are selling bikes by the truck load and have won F'k all in WSBK
