Seriously, do people actually think most Ferrari drivers know who Alonso or Massa are? Or do they think BMW sales dropped when they pulled out of F1? Or that Mercedez sales are taking a hit because Schumacher isn't winning races??
C'mon people, take you head out of the MotoGP bubble - we are a niche fan base of niche market of motorcycling (at least in Europe and North America). We're a small percent of an already small percent.
