Desmodromic valves have nothing to do with this acquisition. Ducati owns no rights and there is no special know how as it relates to cars that they possess. If that was what Audi wanted they could have just hired Prezioso when Rossi has him fired eventually.
Cars have many other factors that limit RPM's making desmo irrelevant. It also goes against longevity and cost of service improvements made and would be difficult to implement variable valve timing which is critical to meet emissions standards.
