How shallow an approach "it is the bike" or "it isn't the bike". It's the combination that matters. Rider and machine act in unison to go forward. That's why I always found comments like "in moto racing it's 80% rider, 20% machine" as totally silly. Rossi obviously is completely beaten phsychologically and has built himslef a defensive stance - when this happens you become too sensitive and feel like losing grip when you really aren't. Anyone who has ridden a bike half-hard knows that. It's up to him to re-build his composure, get up and fight. Seeing how things are turning out it's obviously the biggest challenge of his career yet.
