Schwantz would've possibly challenged for the championship earlier on in his GP career if he wasn't crashing everyday of the week along with bad luck. Wayne Rainey started off steady in 1988 (got his first win in the process), challenged for the championship in 1989 and stormed to it in 1990.
Right now Ben is in his third year, and it's clear that he he hasn't really made the transition like Wayne did all those years ago. In my opinion he should be challenging for the title right now, nothing less.
