I have always felt the riders have camaraderie and self respect all along. Harsh words or actions are exchanged at the heat of the moment but at the end of the day (or season) when they look back they have great respect for each other. Just too bad that all the negativities are often sensationalised by the media, the fans being prey, the riders being victims and media the only winner in the situation. How many of us, haters or supporters of Stoner alike, actually knew or even take notice the exact words of Stoner to Rossi? At the end of the day the animosity is not between riders, but fans like ourselves.
