It's not just a case of saying that they want rider A.B or C to take the seat and then all is tickety boo. Any replacement has to be approved by Ducati, the FIM and the other teams. There is not much time left to get this all done.
Battaini is a Ducati test rider and with a test scheduled for after the race then the factory can not run the risk of him not being available.
I would love to see Troy Bayliss on the Cardion AB bike but I can also think of any number of reasons why that could not happen. Only two days from the team announcement to the start of the event weekend, plus other teams may not be too happy as there is a fair to middling chance that Troy could get on that thing and score some points, thus taking them away from some other regulars who will need them more come the end of the season.
