Nicky and Valentino continue to split their set up work to ensure they have an understanding of how the tires, engine mapping etc. will work in qualifying and on race day. This is not about "owning" anyone, or performing a "marketing" lap. It's about working their ****s off to improve the bike. Nicky has "world champion" on his resume, and Valentino's resume speaks for itself. The Ducati is a dog, but it's less of a dog now than it was a few races ago, due to the hard work of the riders.
... and please don't respond by saying Stoner etc. could do a better job, because he's riding a Honda and not Ducati, and because he has set up issues of his own, which I am sure he will sort out in the methodical manner that all top riders do.
