Yes M1M..even in '07 I remember the tyres Bridgestone made for Elias were very individual. There was concern that Elias wouldn't 'take' to the new rubber Gresini had signed to but remembering that brilliant power-past Rossi for 2nd, at Turkey, gave him all the hope in the world. Gresini's Fabrizio Cecchini pretty much masterminded what Elias needed, they worked together so well when he could command his own tyre...BUT, the spec tyre was never going to suit his style, he brakes so fiercely together with his reliance upon releasing that brake 'just so' for faster corner entry...the force on an Elias front tyre meant the rear tyre has less weight, timing become far more than overly crucial for traction out of the corner...no 'Elias front tyre' and his whole race is down the pan.
Remember that it was Cecchini that persuaded Elias NOT to change his style..'we'll get bespoke tyres to suit him'...alas, by '09 even he saw the writing on the wall and the two did attempt to adapt his style to t
