The thing about Ben's list of excuses is that some of them just seem to me to be that he didn't ride well. Hardly a problem beyond his control. Some of the others just don't seem to ring true.
The one that puzzled me at the time was Qatar. Chatter caused by bike damage? Were that the case surely he would have been slow from the off. In fact he put in a handful of decent laps and then slowed, going backwards through the field as a result. Also while it may have seemed valid to some at the time in light of subsequent performances it must seem less valid.
When it comes down to it it seems that Ben has had considerable trouble adapting to the new bike and tyres. He seems to be improving and a couple of home races might help him get his confidence back. There is, however, absolutely no way it should be taking him so long to get a bike working that is working better than fine for his team mate.
