I can only hope he will keep his seat. Things I think Yamaha should look at are the past 3 1/2 years Ben has been with Yamaha.
He did win them their first and only SBK World Championship in spectacular fashion. Prompting them to give him a ride in MotoGP with Tech 3.
His first year in MotoGP he finished 6th. He sat on the pole once, placed 2nd once and 3rd once. Last year he won at Assen and stood on the podium two more times with a 2nd and 3rd finishing the season in 5th place.
Dorna and Yamaha are not stupid and would not consider every possible angle. Does Mr. Spies help sell motorcycles in the US? Of course he does. Has he helped them garner a World Championship? Yes he has. Would they consider Dovi's performance last year on the Honda? Of course they would. That variable would seem to be to Dovi's advantage in my mind. I do not know where some of the guys are coming from. Yes Honda was the best kit last year. But Dovi placed 3rd in the World Championship.
