basically ducati has a problem of getting in changes fast... half of this season is gone....even if they manage to fix the bike by year end, fact is that the bike will remain good for only one year.....2014 onwards there seem to be some major changes proposed which include a rev limit so how does that affect only ducati... well firstly, the reason ducati tops the speed charts everytime is because the desmodromic valve system in the ducati engine allows it to reach high rpm's.....so where hondas reach 15k...ducatis are 17k....at mugello, where the hondas were going with 9k rpm, the ducatis used to be atleast 12k....so you put in the rev limit and ducatis only advantage goes poof..... secondly...rev limit = new engine building time = 10 races for ducati
